MiCA explained: how to check an EU crypto provider

The last date in MiCA’s general transition for existing crypto-asset service providers was 1 July 2026.

EuroWeeklyNews.uk Desk

MiCA sets out EU rules for services such as operating trading platforms and holding crypto-assets for customers. Article 143 allowed certain existing providers to continue under their former national framework for a limited period. Some countries shortened the transition or did not apply it.

ESMA publishes a register of authorised providers. Search for the legal name shown in the service’s terms, as the brand and the company name can differ. Check which services the authorisation covers.
