Brazil puts a fossil fuel transition plan on the table
The COP30 presidency has published two voluntary roadmaps ahead of the next UN climate summit.

Brazil’s COP30 presidency presented proposals on 3 November to help countries move away from fossil fuels and tackle deforestation. The energy roadmap looks at how countries use and supply energy, and what it takes to manage the economic transition.
The proposals offer a framework governments can use voluntarily. The next point to watch is COP31 in Türkiye, where the presidency’s proposals are expected to inform discussions about how countries follow through on previous commitments.
